Ever since yesterday I have been laughing hysterically at the arrest of California State Senator Leland Yee (D). You may know him as Mr. “I ♥ Piers Morgan”, Mr. “Must ban violent video games.”, or as Mr. “We must ban 3D printed guns”, or simply as Mr. “California Gun Control!”. This guy never met a gun control issue he didn’t love to push. He put him self out there as a stalwart of efforts to ban guns. If there was anyone who could out do Feinstein, Bloomberg, MAIG, etc.. it was him. The paragon on virtue and champion of “think of the children”!
So what was this defender of people from the evil menace of guns arrested for? Well according to the arrest affidavit he was nailed on not only charges such as bribery and public corruption, but also for trying to become an international arms dealer on the black market. Yep that’s right, Mr. “You don’t need an assault weapon.” is charged with importing or attempting to import over $2 million worth of machine guns, rockets, and missiles from The Philippines to fund domestic terrorist and criminal groups. Oh and Mr. “You don’t need more than 10 rounds” was shooting some of those evil weapons of destruction while in The Philippines.
It does get better. He has also been a champion of campaign finance, open government, and lobbying laws. So in addition to being arrested for arms smuggling he has been arrested for being closely tied to Chinatown (San Francisco) organized crime gangs, money laundering of $2.3 million, and receiving campaign donations well in exceed of legal limits in exchange for government contracts. Nice guy, eh?
So many lines come to mind: “Some pigs are more equal than others” “The fox was guarding the hen house” “Do as I say, not as I do”. Regardless I hope that Mr. Yee enjoys his time in the federal court system and would like to thank him for bolstering the pro 2nd Amendment side.
